I had the pleasure of being invited to attend the 30th Year Anniversary of the Screaming Hand at the Seventh Letter Gallery in Los Angeles. The Screaming Hand is an image that defines the 80’s era in skateboarding. Its a culture for some, and a way of life for others. Nobody quite defined the culture with a recognizable brand image like Jim Phillips in the early 80s. His artistry created a hand with a mouthpiece that screams. The image has become synonymous with skateboarding. If you ask me its kind of creepy a hand that screams but something about it draws you in. For whatever reason it not only captures your attention-but holds it. For showing dates please visit Seventh Letter Gallery in Los Angeles.
